Todd Phillips is sharing a new look at Joker: Folie á Deux for the holidays.

Phillips, who worked with Joaquin Phoenix on 2019's Oscar-winning Joker, shared two new images on Instagram of Phoenix, 49, in the upcoming sequel.

In one image, Phoenix, who plays Arthur Fleck, aka the Joker, in the movies, can be seen on the other side of a door, while his costar Lady Gaga looks toward him in a second image.

"Wishing everyone a happy holiday and a beautiful new year," Phillips wrote in a caption.

Folie á Deux is slated to hit theaters on Oct. 4, which is also Joker's five-year anniversary. Phillips commemorated the first film's four-year anniversary back in October. At the time, Phillips shared an image of Phoenix standing in the rain surrounded by a variety of different-colored umbrellas.

"Four years ago we had quite a ride. Lots of great memories. More to come," he wrote at the time.

Joker set box-office records upon its release in 2019; a sequel was officially confirmed in June 2022. The same month, PEOPLE confirmed Gaga, 37, was in talks to play Dr. Harleen "Harley Quinn" Quinzel, though the character is expected to take a different form than the one played by Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad (2016), Birds of Prey (2020) and The Suicide Squad (2020).

The first Joker movie followed Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a struggling party clown and stand-up comedian who turns violent and inadvertently inspires a city-wide riot in Gotham as he takes on the Joker persona. While the sequel's storyline remains unclear, it will be a musical.

Phillips has documented Folie á Deux's progress over the last year on Instagram since he shared an image of Phoenix in character on the first day of filming in December 2022. Gaga was seen filming scenes for the movie in New York City back in March, where she acted alongside hundreds of extras at Manhattan's City Hall.

Gaga and Phillips both confirmed principal photography for the sequel wrapped in April, when they each shared images of the pop star-turned-actress and Phoenix in clown makeup on their Instagram pages.

"That's a wrap. Thanks to these two (+ the entire cast) and the BEST crew that the film industry has to offer. From top to bottom," Phillips wrote in a caption. "Gonna crawl into a cave now (edit room) and put it all together."

Gaga wrote: "That's a wrap ❤️‍🔥 🎬🃏 X, Harleen."

Joker: Folie á Deux is out Oct. 4.
