Monday night the Knockouts for Season 25 begin on The Voice with coaches Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay pairing up two of the remaining members of their teams for sing-offs.

However, the Knockouts are different from the Battles in that they are not duets in any way, shape or form. Rather, each of the artists selects their own song which gives America a chance to see who they are as a performer.

This year, the Mega Mentor is country great Keith Urban who will be working with the coaches and the artists on the songs that they've chosen to prepare for their performances, but it will be up to the individual coaches as to who goes through to the Playoffs.

Up on night one from Team Reba are Asher HaVon, who performs Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart" and Tae Lewis performing Cody Johnson's "Nothin On You."

It was two stellar performances, and Chance says, “Asher and Tae that was so raw. That was one of the best performances on this TV show ever. Period. Asher, you are such an incredible talent. You had a crazy run at the end that reminded me of Rance Allen. You can tap into all these spaces because your range is so big. At some point, I’m going to figure out a way to steal you. Then Tae, everybody got to see you rise to an occasion. It’s about your voice as much as it is about star power. I just want to say congratulations to both of y’all.”

Dan Smyers was next to weigh in. He said, “Asher, you exercised so much restraint in that. I felt like you were doing your thing, then you opened up your arms at the perfect time and the runs were so intentional, so accurate.”

Shay Mooney picks up from there, adding, “Asher, it was from your heart and it went to our souls. Tae, you really stepped up in that moment. You took it to the next level. I used to watch this show called Bonanza growing up and I feel like you’ve this Little Joe Cartwright going on. He always had his hat on [tilt]. Swagger. Your swagger is so heavy, you had to lean to one side.”

Then John started a battle with Chance when he said, “Whoever Reba does not choose, there’s a place for you at Team Legend.”

Chance insisted: “You can’t do that.”

John continued, “I’ve been at this show for nine seasons now. I can do what I want. Anyway, Asher, I feel like your presence is so regal. Like this is King Asher on the stage. I’ve almost never seen an artist sing that low with that much power. After that, what do you do Tae? What you did was go out there and sing the hell out of that song. You guys should be so proud of yourself.”

Finally, it was Reba’s turn. She said, “You guys give me chills, make me cry. I felt like a proud mama sitting here. You’ve both got so much soul. It comes from your toenails when you guys start singing. Asher, you open your mouth, and this stuff comes out. Where did that come from? I’m in awe. And then Tae, you come up here and you’re a ball of energy. You’re a giver. You just exude, I want to be your best friend. I love that.”

Host Carson Daly then tells Reba she has to pick the winner of the Knockout.

Tune in Monday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC to find out who Reba picks to go into the Playoffs – and to find out if either John or Chance are able to Steal Reba’s other artist.
