Hear It First: Maisy Kay Debuts Track for ‘Enough’

Ask avant-pop singer Maisy Kay to single-out her music idol, and she’ll immediately name-check Freddie Mercury. But ask her whom she’s dreamed of sounding like, and she’ll just as promptly reference softer, torch-ballad legends Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

The singer-songwriter began playing piano at 10, and once found her footing as a writer began enjoying mixing various influences to create her own sound. Yahoo Music is pleased to debut her track for “Enough,” is the follow up to her debut single "Blood Filled Tears."

“Enough is a very important song for me. It’s about the struggle that most of us go through at some point: acceptance. Whether it’s from your family, friends, or even yourself, the process can be brutal,” she says. “For me, this song highlights the journey of battling with my inner critic, and ultimately shows that accepting yourself is the hardest challenge. But with facing that challenge, comes the greatest reward.”
