The Oscars Snack Box and Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel kept the Oscars full of jokes and its attendees full of snacks.

The four-time Academy Awards host gifted snack boxes to Hollywood’s biggest stars during the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night — just as he had done in 2023 and 2018.

This year, guests found the curated boxes — each adorned with a sticker of the late-night talk show host holding an Oscars trophy — underneath their seats in Dolby Theatre. Inside was a soft pretzel from Shappy Pretzel Co. and mustard, a box of candy, a bottle of water and a note from Kimmel.

Each attendee got treated to a different candy, but Mike and Ike and Milk Duds were some of the sweets offered.

Perhaps the sweetest gift in the box though was the donation that the Oscars host made to St. Joseph Center to “keep the karma flowing,” according to the note. The organization provides food, housing and mental health resources for poor families and homeless people.

“No host = no snacks!” Kimmel's card also read, reference when the Oscars did not have a host in 2019, 2020 and 2021. (Amy SchumerWanda Sykes and Regina Hall hosted in 2022.)

Kimmel’s previous snack boxes contained similar goodies and charitable donations. He donated to the Los Angeles Food Bank on behalf of the attendees in 2023 and in 2018.

On Sunday, Kimmel and his Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, invited guests to wash their snacks down with a shot of Don Julio tequila.

"I'm going to toast everybody," Rodriguez said during the bit. "I love everyone here, and I love you, Jimmy. I love tequila, and I love my beautiful wife, Miss Charlize Theron. I love you. You're my angel."

During the show, first-time winners gave emotional and exciting speeches, like after The Holdovers' Da'Vine Joy Randolph Best Supporting Actress win and Robert Downey Jr.’s Best Supporting Actor win for his role in Oppenheimer.

Emma Stone won her second Best Actress award for her role in Poor Things and took time to congratulate the other nominees. She also finished her speech by talking about her 3-year-old daughter and quoted pal Taylor Swift's lyrics.

There were plenty of movie reunions amongst presenters last night, too. Beetlejuice stars Michael Keaton and Catherine O'Hara had an on-stage reunion while presenting the awards for Best Production Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Twins actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito also reunited while presenting awards last night, joking that they were “obviously” paired because they "both tried to kill Batman.”
