It’s a goal that will reverberate through American Olympic history. It’s a goal that ended a 20-year Canadian reign over women’s hockey. It’s a goal named after a Britney Spears song.

Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson scored the game-winning goal in a shootout to finally win Team USA a gold medal in women’s hockey, avenging years of heartbreak at the hands of Canada. After the game, Lamoureux-Davidson’s twin sister Monique revealed to NBC’s Pierre McGuire the name of the move that led to the landmark goal: “Oops, I Did it Again.”

It’s certainly a fitting title for the move, considering the way it played with Canadian hearts. However, this goal will never be lost in the game.

Peter Elander, the skills coach who worked with Lamoureux-Morando on the move, was certainly both proud of the goal and into the nickname.

Soon after the goal, U.S. goalie Maddie Rooney, who had a heck of a game herself, blocked Canada’s response in the final round of the shootout. The gold medal belonged to the United States.
