Brides On the Run
The idea of the game is that three women dressed as brides compete together on a treadmill as they must conquer things thrown their way, like giant pieces of wedding cake.
It looks like the women are wearing jeans too - the preferred wardrobe accessory for a bride if you're in a treadmill race with other brides.
Crash Course On 'Game Of Games'
As the women -- Samantha, Casey, and Tonia -- continue to run on the treadmill, puffy bars come out from each side to stop them and push them back to the start line. Watch them fall!
The winner of "Runaway Bride" gets to go on to the next contest, "Know Or Go." Whoever wins that round would move on to "Hot Hands" and the possibility to win a cash prize.
Here's the synopsis of the new episode: "Contestants will play ‘Dizzy Dash,’ ‘Son of a One-Eyed Monster,’ and ‘Blindfolded Musical Chairs'. "
The entire series is based on DeGeneres' daytime talk show.
There are some games within the game show that return every season, with catchy names like "Aw Snap," "Dizzy Dash," "Don't Leave Me Hanging" and "One-Eyed Monster."
Season 3 of "Game Of Games" began on Jan. 7 -- episodes appear Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
DeGeneres Lauded For Groundbreaking Achievements
DeGeneres was just recently celebrated at the 2020 Golden Globes awards, receiving the first Carol Burnett Award for Excellence in Television.
Actress Laura Dern spoke with Us Weekly recently about seeing her friend receive the award.
Dern played Susan on DeGeneres' brief sitcom in the '90s -- the show where DeGeneres' character comes out as gay. Dern's character helps Ellen realize she's gay.
Dern talked about DeGeneres' award during the New York Film Critics Circle Awards.
“I happened to be sitting right in front of [Ellen at the Golden Globes] and I saw her after [her speech]. She said to me, ‘Did you feel me staring right at you?’ And [said] how special it was to be looking at me while she was talking about that moment. It was very beautiful. It was an amazing moment of my life to be part of that.”
DeGeneres Deserves a Lot Of Respect
Dern elaborated on that moment on "Ellen" in 1997 when DeGeneres said she was gay.
“What was amazing, which I will never forget, that when she looked in my eyes, she said it was the first time she said, ‘I’m gay’ out loud.
We didn’t rehearse it, so when she said it to me, and was looking in my eyes and holding my hands and I felt her shaking … the gift. It makes me want to cry — the gift of that, the intimacy of what that means, was such insight for me. I’ll carry it for the rest of my life.”
