Eric Church and Maren Morris won big at the the 54th Country Music Association Awards, held Wednesday night at the Music City Center in Nashville.

Church took home the top prize of Entertainer of the Year. "It's going to be music that brings us out of this," he said in his acceptance speech. "Music is going to save the entire world." He'd been nominated in the category three times previously, but this marked his first win.

Morris claimed the most trophies of the night, taking home three major awards out of her five total nominations. She scored both Single and Song of the Year with her track "The Bones" and also won Female Vocalist of the Year.

Country legend Reba McEntire and Hootie & the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker hosted the affair, with McEntire reprising her emcee gig from last year and Rucker making his debut in the post. The night also marked the first CMAs since 2007 not hosted by Carrie Underwood.

Charley Pride, whose hits include "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" and "Just Between Me and You," received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

In addition to celebrating the best of country music, the CMAs showcased numerous performers, including an appearance from decidedly not-country star Justin Bieber alongside Dan + Shay and numbers by Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, and more. Lee Brice, Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard, Lady A, and Rascal Flatts had to cancel previously announced performances due to positive COVID-19 tests.
