A secret menu? How to snag a reservation at this top NJ restaurant's 'Blind Tasting Menu'

It's no secret that Fiorentini Restaurant is one of the best Italian spots in Bergen County. What is a secret, however, is what it's serving each week on its "Blind Tasting Menu."

First launched in November to celebrate the restaurant's one year anniversary, the Blind Tasting Menu is a unique dining experience in which chef and founder Antonio De Ieso designs a "sophisticated yet personable dinner" for up to four guests. In an exciting and intimate setting, the small group (or pair of couples) is seated at a private marble counter where they can watch the chef work. Though the contents of each course are a surprise, De Ieso promises his guests seven handcrafted, curated dishes.

Some of the dishes offered on past blind menus include Smoked Duck Carpaccio, Local NJ Scallops with guanciale and Tortello Carbonara, the last of which, due to its success in the tasting, has since been added to the restaurant's spring menu.

Since the Blind Tasting Menu made its debut, it's caught the attention of many local diners. According to the restaurant's team, the experience gets fully booked each month — especially since it's only offered on Thursdays and Sundays. We're writing about it today, therefore, because July's time slots are about to open. Here's everything we know about snagging a reservation:

  • Reservations open three weeks in advance on a month-to-month basis

  • This Friday (June 17th), July seats will be up for grabs

  • To secure your spot, click here, select a Thursday or a Sunday date and scroll down to the "Blind Tasting at Chef's Table" option. Select "book now"

  • Reservations fill up within three to four days of opening, so we suggest making one as soon as possible

We've already got our table for the end of June, so stay tuned online — or on Instagram — for our full review of the experience. And, if you beat us to the tasting? Let us know what you think (and what you ate) at @northjerseyeats.

Here's hoping for aged cheese, seared fish and lots and lots of pasta.
