After playing rocker Tommy Lee, Sebastian Stan is setting his sights on another infamous figure: Donald Trump.

The Pam & Tommy and Marvel actor will portray a young version of the real estate tycoon-turned-TV personality-turned-former POTUS in the film The Apprentice, our sister site Deadline reports.

Additionally, Jeremy Strong (Succession) and Maria Bakalova (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) have joined the cast as attorney Roy Cohn and Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, respectively.

The movie The Apprentice — a nod to the NBC reality competition series that Trump hosted — is described as “an exploration of power and ambition, set in a world of corruption and deceit,” per Deadline. It will explore Trump’s New York real estate business in the ’70s and ’80s and his relationship with Cohn, while telling “a mentor-protégé story that charts the origins of a major American dynasty.” The film, which began production this week, is written by Gabriel Sherman (The Loudest Voice) and directed by Ali Abbasi (The Last of Us).

The casting news comes as Trump is facing multiple indictment charges, while also gunning to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election.

In addition to his role in Hulu’s limited series Pam & Tommy, for which he received Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations, Stan is known for playing Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
