“I’ve always loved theatrical rock and roll,” says music legend Sebastian Bach while discussing his time as Tiki on “The Masked Singer.” The Skid Row frontman was eliminated on episode 9 following an “I Wanna Rock” night performance of “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” by Kiss. “Elton John, Kiss, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, I’ve always loved a big show. Big costumes, fire and smoke and bombs going off. ‘The Masked Singer’ is definitely a big production.” Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior Denton Davidson above.

One of the most fun aspects of Bach’s time on the show was song selection. “Most TV that I’ve done is very scripted,” he explains. “I was on ‘Gilmore Girls’ for seven seasons. On that show it’s a story, so if they said, ‘We’re doing this song, Hollaback Girl,’ I don’t have any problem with that, but there’s certain songs that I can sing that really show off my voice. One of them is that song ‘Magic’ by Pilot. It’s a very high vocal. I’m really proud of the way I belted it out.”

The rocker admits he was a little too confident heading into the competition and was not at all prepared for his smackdown with Hawk (Tyler Posey) in Week 5. “I was in the bottom two and I couldn’t believe it,” he reveals. “They had me do a smackdown. It was a Lady Gaga song and since I didn’t think there was any possible way that I would be in the bottom two I didn’t really prepare. I didn’t even really practice! I didn’t take it serious. I was like, ‘I’m Sebastian Bach, there’s nobody that’s gonna be as good a me.’ So when they said ‘Smackdown!’ I said, ‘You stupid idiot, you didn’t even rehearse this,’ but I flicked the switch. I said, ‘You wanna have a vocal smackdown with me? Get ready for the smacking to begin!'”

Although he prevailed that night, he ultimately succumbed to the Sea Queen, who will meet Cow and Gazelle in the Season 10 finale. The fourth and final finalist will be determined in next week’s Group C final.
