Now we’re really starting to heat up! Cantina Royal are back making their first Hot Ones appearance since Season 15, and the flavors in the name say it all. Like a glazed plate of BBQ ribs with a devilishly spicy twist, you’ve got the earthy smokiness of dried jalapeño (aka Morita), balanced out by the whiskey notes and the sweetness of the maple. Put them all together and you’ve got a well-rounded sauce that’s not too sweet, plus a slow-building heat thanks to the Carolina Reaper peppers that’ll leave you sweating.
7. Forbidden Fruit Hot Sauce by La Pimenterie
Another sauce that’s come back to bite us all in the butt, La Pimenterie has returned to the show with a new, super pepper-forward blend. Featuring a special mix of red chilis that have been fermented for months, it’s tangy, versatile and surprisingly complex. Despite the deceptively simple ingredients, that fermentation gives it an oak-forward, aged flavor profile. Try it in a grain bowl, or on a salad to kick your greens up a notch.
8. Da Bomb Beyond Insanity Hot Sauce
You know it, you love to hate it, this legendarily vile concoction is feared and consumed by celebrities and Sean Evans alike — and now you can taste a dab of it for yourself. Hot habanero peppers are blended with smokey Chipotle peppers, which would be enough for any mere mortal mouth to handle. It’s wicked beyond belief, and widely considered to be the most painful sauce on the roster despite the Scoville ranking, so proceed with caution!
