What you searched on Google: Top 10 topics and most-asked questions of 2023 in Florida

This week, Google released a recap of the most-searched people, places and things in 2023.

Google’s “Year in search” shows the world’s top five most searched news topics, actors, athletes, musicians, movies, TV shows, books, songs, social media trends, recipes and more.

You can filter the results to only include searches from the U.S., but not by state.

So, we took it upon ourselves to look at Google Trends for Florida and find out what residents of the Sunshine State searched the most in 2023.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what Florida asked Google this year and how to find the “Year in search” recap.

What were the most-Googled topics in Florida in 2023?

In 2023, Floridians searched for weather news more than anything else on Google. The top search topic for Floridians on Google this year was “weather.”

This was also reflected in Google’s nationwide “Year in search” snapshot, where “Hurricane Idalia” was the fourth-most searched news topic in the country this year.

We found some of Florida’s most-Googled questions of 2023 by filtering Google Trends for the most-frequently searched phrases including who, what, when, where, how or why.

How to find Google’s 'Year in search' results

To browse Google’s “Year in search” results for yourself, all you have to do is go to the Google Trends website and click on the menu icon in the upper left corner of the webpage. There’s a “Year in search” tab with a calendar icon next to it. If you click on that, you’ll be taken directly to Google’s 2023 recap.
