Sean Tizzle is bringing his “Dues The Album Tour” to New York City! On Tuesday (July 25), the Afrobeats star took to his social media account to announce that he will be performing live at the historic SOB’s nightclub on Sunday, Sept. 3.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce ‘DUES THE ALBUM TOUR!'” he captioned the event flyer on Instagram. “NEW YORK, STAND UP! [American flag emoji]. SEPT. 3 — SAVE THE DATE.” Tickets are now available for purchase on his official website.

This event is in support of Tizzle’s highly anticipated second studio album, Dues, which was released on Friday, June 16. The 12-track project was a follow-up to his 2014 debut album, The Journey. Although its been a nine-year gap between the two projects, the 33-year-old singer was still working, as he released two EPs — Moving Forward in 2017 and Where You Been in 2021.

He recently released a live performance video of his single “Witness” off of Dues. “I wrote ‘Witness’ after a very crazy experience that I don’t wish for anyone,” Tizzle told his fans on Twitter. “All I can say is be mindful of fake friends!” On the track he sings, “Knocking on your door like Jehovah Witness/ Watching n**gas close to me closely/ Borrow me your lighter make I light up my jay/ You know sey nobody holy/ Leave story/ Omo na the money story/ No go collect for ogboni/ Leave story, omo say leave story/ Omo na the real thing/ No go collect for ogboni.”

The Lagos State native began his career as a rapper with 3-Way Band but later tapped into singing when he discovered how good his voice was. He rose to stardom in 2013 after the release of his hit single “Sho Lee.” Throughout his career, he has collaborated with Wyclef Jean, Tory Lanez, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Olamide, Peruzzi, 9ice, and KCee, amongst many other international stars.
