‘SEAL Team’ Scores Full Season Order at CBS

Freshman CBS drama “SEAL Team” has received a full season order, the network announced Thursday.

The series focuses on the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them. It stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Paré. Benjamin Cavell, Ed Redlich, Christopher Chulack, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

The series has been a solid ratings performer for the network already. The series premiere drew a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.8 million viewers in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day numbers. The first three episodes of the season have averaged a 1.3 and 8.7 million. It is one of the higher-rated freshman shows on CBS this season to date, behind only “Young Sheldon” and “9JKL.”

This marks the second full season order for a new CBS series thus far this season. Previously, CBS gave such an order to the “Big Bang Theory” prequel series “Young Sheldon” after it aired just one episode. That series premiere pulled in a 3.8 and 17.2 million viewers, making it the highest rated broadcast comedy premiere since the 2011 debut of CBS’ “Two Broke Girls.”
