Seahawks' Justin Coleman channels Ezekiel Elliott with Salvation Army kettle celebration

The NFL’s relaxed celebration rules have allowed for dozens of memorable choreographed dances and rehearsed routines this season. Unfortunately, they still have a few caveats. But one of them didn’t stop Seattle Seahawks cornerback Justin Coleman from emulating one of the more memorable celebrations from a year ago.

Coleman picked off Dak Prescott and took the errant pass back to the house to give the Seahawks a 14-9 lead over the Dallas Cowboys in AT&T Stadium. The score helped the Seahawks win as Seattle stayed alive in the postseason hunt and eliminated Dallas from the picture.

All the while, Coleman surely had Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott’s Salvation Army kettle jump in the back of his mind. So he saw the kettle behind one end zone, and made a beeline for it.

Coleman was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct, just as Elliott was last year. The NFL decided against fining Elliott. We’ll see if they let Coleman off the hook, too.

Elliott, after hearing he would not be fined last year, tweeted that he would be donating to the Salvation Army.

In general, the Salvation Army reportedly saw a significant rise in donations after the stunt. Perhaps it will get a similar bump again.
