Seahawks elevate WR Cody Thompson, DT Robert Nkemdiche from practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks have elevated two players from their practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Minnnesota Vikings.

Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche is getting called up for the second time this season, which means he has to go on the roster permanently. His elevation is a bit interesting considering that Bryan Mone is expected to play tomorrow. Wide receiver Cody Thompson is also being elevated. Seattle is thin at this position with Dee Eskridge missing his second straight game with a concussion. Eskridge is expected to return next week though, so Thompson is on borrowed time.

If that’s not the case or depth issues at DT and WR continue, it’s probably worth mentioning that defensive tackle Geno Atkins and wide receiver Josh Gordon (who has been reinstated) are both on the market and the Seahawks have more than enough salary cap room to sign them.
