Seafood Festival, Thunder over New Hampshire: Things to do in Seacoast
This weekend is filled to the brim for those looking for something to do on the Seacoast. Head to Hampton Beach for the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, look up to the skies and check out the Thunder Over New Hampshire Air Show at Pease Air National Guard Base, find your way through a maze of sunflowers at Tendercrop Farm's Sunflower Festival or fly a kite on Ogunquit Beach.

Hampton Beach Seafood Festival
What: Over 50 of the Seacoast’s top restaurants serving an abundance of mouthwatering seafood delicacies; 80 Craft Vendors promoting locally made products; hundreds of Ocean Boulevard merchants offering end-of-the-season sidewalk sales; continuous culinary chef demonstrations with "Wicked Bites" TV show produced by Scott Whitley; and two stages of continuous entertainment with more than 15 bands and orchestras.
When: Friday, Sept. 8, from noon to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

JAZZSCAPES II
What: See the jazz-inspired exhibition "JAZZSCAPES II" from the Seacoast contemporary painters group Abstract 4 at an opening reception at PMAC's Haas Gallery. Abstract 4 consists of painters Tom Glover, Barbara Adams, Dustan Knight and Peter Cady, who explore the definition and creation of abstract, non-traditional art. In “JAZZSCAPES II,” Abstract 4 portray their appreciation of, and response to, jazz music in shape, gesture, and color.

34th annual Pocket Gardens of Portsmouth Tour
What: This year’s tour features a lovely mix of nine professional and amateur designed and maintained gardens found in the Lafayette Park neighborhood (Middle, Aldrich, and Spinney). Also included are the Loughlin Preserve, ample parking, and the return of garden educators including John Forti, author of The Heirloom Gardener: Traditional Plants and Skills for the Modern World and Susan Pike, nature writer for the Portsmouth Herald.
When: Friday, Sept. 8, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

What: The Thunder Over New Hampshire Air Show will feature about a dozen flying performances by both military and civilian pilots and dozens of aircraft on display on the ground as well as educational hands-on activities for all ages.

Tendercrop Farm Sunflower Festival
What: Tractor rides, artisans, farm style barbecue, food trucks, petting zoo, corn maze, the farm style playground, live music, an apple pie contest, pony rides, bounce pad….and lots more fun!
When: Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Blueberry Festival in Eliot

Capriccio Festival of Kites at Ogunquit Beach
What: The 23rd annual Capriccio Festival of Kites will be giving away 300 kites to kids to decorate and fly. A mass ascension will be at noon and prizes awarded to kids. Local kite flyers will be flying their favorite kites throughout the day. Music by Andy Happel and friends.
When: Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Disney Drag Brunch with The Curbside Queens at The Press Room
What: Join the Curbside (Drag) Queens of Portland, ME to celebrate the Disney icons we all love, and give to an important cause. This fundraiser will benefit The Trans Youth Equality Foundation. The ticket price includes performance only. Food and drink are paid separately. Families and kids of all ages are welcome (and encouraged) to dress up (princesses, queens, firefighters, superheroes, etc). Proceeds for the event will be donated to TYEF. Drag is art and should be celebrated.

The Mad Ones at Newmarket Mill Space
What: Jonesing for Theater is proud to present the New Hampshire fringe premiere of the hit musical "The Mad Ones" at The Newmarket Millspace.
