Toronto has yet another reason to embrace Scottie Barnes. Beyond his stellar work with the Raptors last season, the NBA’s Rookie of the Year has clearly been adapting to his new life in the North.
Turns out the 20-year-old Raptor is a basketball superstar both on the real-life and virtual courts. Barnes, who occasionally streams himself playing NBA 2K22 on Twitch, found himself beefing jokingly with someone who claimed to be a Toronto mans.
“Ooh you’re a Toronto man now,” remarks Barnes. “Where are you from, you’re from Brampton?”

When the player confirms he’s actually from Brampton, the satellite city just north west of Ontario’s capital, Barnes goes into full Toronto mans mode, accent and all.
“Yo guys, this guy say he from Brampton! Get this likkle waste yute up out of here, you’re a waste yute, fam!”
Some people think that this is a sign Barnes has fallen for the city that scooped him up fourth overall in the NBA draft.
Scottie's clowning Brampton like a real Toronto Mans already! I love it!

All of that said, whether or not someone from Brampton qualifies as a Toronto mans is a distinction we’ll leave up to you.
