Scott Wolf left 'bawling' after watching 'Party of Five' for the first time in years

Scott Wolf starred in all six seasons of the Fox drama Party of Five, but he hadn’t watched it for years after it ended in 2000. Then, about five years ago, he heard that it was available on Netflix.

“I was away, I was shooting, and I was in the hotel room one night,” Wolf said Wednesday at BUILD Series in New York City. “So I was like, oh, maybe I’ll just watch a scene.”

Wolf was hooked. He couldn’t turn away.

“I don’t even know, like, seven hours later, I was sitting on the couch just bawling,” he said.

The actor was 26 when the show, about five siblings supporting each other after their parents died in a drunk driving accident, aired the first of six seasons.

For Wolf, seeing himself in action with cast members including Neve Campbell, Lacey Chabert, Matthew Fox and Jennifer Love Hewitt was “like leafing through a family photo album.”

“[Being on the show] was an incredibly rewarding experience,” Wolf said. “I still love all those people and the stories were really human and kind of timeless.”

Since Party of Five went off the air, Wolf’s married Kelley Limp, a cast member from MTV’s 2000 season of The Real World: New Orleans. They share three school-age kids: two sons and a daughter. Of course, he’s continued to act and appears in the new CW take on Nancy Drew, premiering Oct. 30.

Meanwhile, a rebooted version of Party of Five, with a new cast playing an immigrant family, is set to premiere on Freeform in 2020.
