'Grey's Anatomy' star Scott Speedman and his fiancée welcomed their first child in 2021 and got engaged in 2023

Scott Speedman went Instagram official with his now-fiancée, Lindsay Rae Hofmann, in 2017.

Since then, the Felicity alum returned to Grey's Anatomy in season 18 after his guest-starring role during season 14 and appeared in the third season of the Netflix drama You. Amid the actor's busy schedule, he also welcomed his first child in 2021.

That same year, Hofmann announced she was expecting their first child together on Mother's Day. "In full bloom. Baby girl Speedman coming soon," she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her baby bump.

Ahead of the birth, Speedman opened up to PEOPLE about his excitement of becoming a father. "I'm aware that I don't have to do the heavy lifting, so I'm a coach and support team for my girl. We're just trying to get everything ready," he said.

Their daughter, Pfeiffer Lucia, was born in October 2021. Though Speedman and Hofmann typically keep the details of their relationship private, she proudly shares photos of the happy family on her Instagram.

In June 2023, Hofmann posted about an important milestone in the couple's relationship — their engagement. "yes ♾️," she wrote alongside a carousel of photos of the pair celebrating.

She co-founded a swimwear brand

In 2017, Hofmann co-founded Juillet, a collection of contemporary and luxury swimsuits. Several celebrities have worn the brand, including January Jones, Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid.

Prior to that, Hofmann worked as a brand consultant and fashion editorial account manager, according to her LinkedIn.

She co-hosted a podcast

Along with running her swimwear company, Hofmann co-hosted the podcast Real Girl Series with her two friends, Jess and Giana.

The interview-based podcast launched in February 2020, and it focused on mental health, wellness and spirituality. However, the trio seem to be on a hiatus as they haven't published an episode since April 2022.

She was first linked to Speedman in 2017

Speedman and Hofmann have been romantically linked since 2017.

In July of the same year, the first photo of the couple appeared on Hofmann's Instagram with the caption, "magical night."

They also spent the holidays together a few months later. On Instagram, Hofmann shared a black-and-white snap of the two cuddling while wearing festive hats.

"Just us being cheeky and cute #canadianchristmas," she captioned the photo, seemingly nodding to Speedman's Canadian upbringing.

She was a fan of You and Grey's Anatomy before Speedman joined the casts

In October 2021, Speedman told Esquire that Hofmann was an avid viewer of two series he eventually landed.

"She started watching You, and then I ended up on that show," he said. "She started binge-watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix during the pandemic, and here I am. Whatever she seems to watch, I seem to end up on."

Speedman told PEOPLE that he gets a kick out of Hofmann enjoying the projects he acts in.

"Part of the fun of me doing shows like this is that she gets really excited about it," he said.

She gave birth at home

Speedman and Hoffman welcomed their first child, Pfeiffer Lucia Speedman, on Oct. 26, 2021.

He shared the news on Instagram the following month, along with two photos showing him holding his newborn daughter.

"Pfeiffer Lucia Speedman. Born at home 10/26/21. In awe of my girl @lindsayraehofmann. Awe," he wrote.

Before baby Pfeiffer's arrival, Speedman appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and spoke about preparing for a home birth, which included borrowing a tub from a neighbor.

Later, Speedman described the birthing experience to The Cut as "incredible."

"It's a wild thing to experience, to be there to watch, to see this person you love so much going to this level," he told the outlet.

She chose their daughter's name

Speedman revealed that Hofmann chose their daughter's name. "That seemed important," he told The Cut, adding, "and, obviously, she's doing all the heavy lifting."

The Underworld star said their baby's name was inspired by Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park in Big Sur, California, where the couple often spend time together.

In November 2021, Hofmann posted a carousel of photos of their baby girl on Instagram with the caption: "Pfeiffer, for her heart to always feel connected to the nature and sea, & Lucia, to forever be our little 'light.' We love you little Pfeiff."

She and Speedman share a dog

Speedman and Hofmann have a Labrador named Bodhi, and, according to the actor, that was one of his biggest concerns about bringing an infant home.

"He's been really good," he told The Cut. "He's very curious; sometimes, he's a little scared of her too. It's a big change for him, so we're all going through it."

Despite being a first-time father, Speedman acknowledged he had it easier adjusting to parenthood than Hofmann. "I have less of a role at this point, and I'm the support unit," he said.
