Scott Davenport had a good Tuesday night.

First, his Bellarmine men's basketball team pulled off a historic win in front of the home crowd at Freedom Hall. With more than 6,000 fans in attendance, the Knights lit up Jacksonville in a 77-72 victory in the ASUN Tournament championship game, marking Bellarmine's first conference title just two years after entering Division I.

The game ended about 7 p.m., with Bellarmine fans storming the court to celebrate. But Davenport's night wasn't finished.

The Louisville native and longtime coach of the Knights swung by Shenanigans, a local bar near Bellarmine's campus, after the game to take in the scene with fans who were in attendance. And Davenport didn't want to celebrate alone – the next round, he told attendees as he handed a few bills to another man behind the bar, was on him.

"Just to show how much we appreciate you and how much we thank you, your first or your next, if it's not your first, your next drink will be on me," Davenport told the crowd, according to a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday night by local radio host Mark Blankenbaker.

The move, as you'd probably expect, was met with a big cheer.

Fans in the crowd won't be able to watch the Knights in the NCAA Tournament. Bellarmine, in its second Division I season, is still two years from completing its transition period and is ineligible for the Big Dance.

Instead, the Knights could end up in the National Invitation Tournament or the College Basketball Invitational, which traditionally pick teams that don't end up in the more prestigious NCAA Tournament.

Those tournaments won't start until next week, though. So Bellarmine fans have plenty of time to celebrate the moment.
