Schools, former players react to Texas potentially joining the SEC

It’s been quite the week for college football fans.

On Wednesday, a bombshell report was released that stated Texas and Oklahoma are interested in joining the SEC. Just hours later, many national media networks began confirming the news that a decision could be made on the matter sooner rather than later.

With every major decision of this nature, there will be potential roadblocks to sort out in the process. How will the conference look with two additional teams? What would happen to the future schedule opponents currently in place? Will Longhorn Network dissipate? What happens to the other eight teams in the Big 12?

From a football and revenue standpoint, Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC is a no brainer.

There appears to only be one program sternly against the move: Texas A&M. Unfortunately for the Aggies, they don’t seem to have a say in it and have reportedly been left in the dark as these discussions have taken place over the last several months.

Now that the move to the SEC is imminent, former players and college programs across the country are starting to express their thoughts. Take a look at a few of the reactions on the next page.
