Welcome to the weekend before Thanksgiving.

If you are hosting, your weekend plans likely include scrubbing down the powder room, sprucing up the dining room, tracking down the dust bunnies, shopping and slicing and dicing and baking and much more.

Schellville is back in Rehoboth Beach

The hugely popular Christmas extravaganza that is Schellville opens this weekend in Rehoboth Beach.

Schell Brothers, a homebuilding company ubiquitous to the Delaware beaches, is in its sixth year of hosting Schellville. It's a 5.5-acre Christmas village full of everything anyone looking to indulge in the Christmas spirit could hope for - and it's free.

"It's like a Christmas playground for everyone," Schell Brothers' spokesperson Alyssa Titus says in a promotional video.

Longwood Christmas is all aglow

Longwood Gardens is officially back with its new holiday exhibit, which is already selling tickets fast for its opening day.

The premier public garden returns with its annual display “A Longwood Christmas,” which runs through Sunday, Jan. 7.

The exhibit, which features over half a million lights, is on view every day. Yes, it's open even on Christmas Day.

Elvis & Johnny Cash in new Christmas musical

Music legends Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash are celebrated in the holiday-themed production "Million Dollar Quartet Christmas."

The show follows up-and-coming rockers Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Cash and Presley in a show inspired by a true story of the artists' December 1956 homecoming at Sun Records. Fans will hear classics like "Run Rudolph Run,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas" and more.

Richard Raw hosts album party

Wilmington emcee and activist Richard Raw has a lot on his mind, and he wants to share it with you at his jam-packed album-release concert.

Raw will perform his ninth studio album, "The Crown," at the free event. The show includes a bunch of special guests including Yikes Lee, Kae Hock, Brizz Rawsteen, Orisha, Ty Harper and many others, according to the event flyer.

During the pandemic, the Delaware Division of the Arts announced Richard Raw won $6,000 for an Individual Artist Fellowship grant.

National ventriloquist to crack up Smyrna

Maybe you've seen him on "America's Got Talent," or opening for Weird Al Yankovic.

Either way, ventriloquist John Pizzi and one of his favorite dummies are going to paint the town extra red in Smyrna (because red is already the color of Smyrna School District).

A special magic is created when a talented ventriloquist can charm a crowd. Pizzi is a national headliner who performs at resorts, comedy clubs and colleges, so expect the unexpected when he hits the stage this weekend.

Brian Fallon greets The Queen

The lead singer of The Gaslight Anthem is coming to the First State on his solo tour. During the pandemic, the singer-songwriter released his album "Local Honey," an eight-song project that's anchored by acoustic guitar and piano.
