Scarlett Johansson has 'unfinished business' in new Black Widow footage

2020 is still young, and Scarlett Johansson is already having a very good year. The actress made Academy Awards history Monday when she became only the 12th person ever to receive two acting nominations in the same year (for Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit). Plus, she’s got a little movie coming out this year called Black Widow, the years-in-the-making standalone film about her superspy Natasha Romanoff.

Marvel dropped a new trailer for the film Monday night during the College Football Playoff National Championship game, offering a new look at everyone’s favorite crimson-haired agent. Directed by Cate Shortland, the film is a prequel set in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, and it follows Nat as she’s drawn back into the mysterious Red Room program. Along the way, she reunites with old allies like Florence Pugh’s Yelena, Rachel Weisz’s Malena, and David Harbour’s Alexei, a.k.a. the Red Guardian.

“I was trying to do something good — be more than just a trained killer,” we hear Natasha say.

“You’re fooling yourself,” Yelena replies. “We’re still both trained killers.”

The action-packed trailer also gives us our best look yet at Nat’s new foe: the mysterious Taskmaster, a villain who can instantly copy his opponent’s skills.

Black Widow will hit theaters May 1. Watch the new trailer above.
