‘Scandal’ Recap: Olivia and Mellie Finally Become Besties
On Scandal, Olivia Pope asks Mellie the question we’ve all been anticipating for five seasons: Why did she stay with Fitz? The two career-driven ladies had the chance to search within themselves and come to terms with why they both lead such poor romantic lives.
Mellie showed up to Olivia Pope’s home drunk on moonshine, ready to delve into the darkest part of her life.
Olivia put the red wine and popcorn away and finally admitted to herself and to Mellie why she also maintained the mistress title. After many tears and some sloppy drunken compliments, the ladies came to a resolve. They put their former flame aside and found peace in a new era as friends.
Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
