SOUTH BEND — The South Bend Symphony Orchestra and Shakespeare at Notre Dame present “Shakespeare’s Dreams” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Michigan St.

The program includes the overture and excerpts from Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and the prelude and Suite No. 1 from Sibelius’ “The Tempest” combined with text from these two plays by William Shakespeare and immersive visuals by projection designer Camilla Tassi.

Shakespeare at Notre Dame Executive Director Scott Jackson directs Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival veterans Marlon Andrew Burnley ("Romeo and Juliet"), TayLar ("Hamlet 50/50") and Sarah Scanlon ("The Tempest" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream") for the dramatic portions of the concert.

A detail of the newly discovered portrait of William Shakespeare, presented by the Shakespeare Birthplace trust, is seen in central London, Monday March 9, 2009. The portrait, believed to be almost the only authentic image of the writer made from life, has belonged to one family for centuries but was not recognized as a portrait of Shakespeare until recently. There are very few likenesses of Shakespeare, who died in 1616.
