SBSO rides the Hogwarts Express for play-along screening of 'Sorcerer's Stone'
SOUTH BEND — The South Bend Symphony Orchestra performs live to a screening of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 2:30 p.m. Oct 8 at the Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Michigan St.
Under the direction of guest conductor Ron Spigelman, the SBSO will perform John Williams’ entire score for the film while the film plays on a 40-foot screen.

In “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” based on the novel by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter learns on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned son of two wizards and possesses magical powers of his own.
At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he learns the high-flying sport of Quidditch and plays a thrilling “live” chess game en route to facing a Dark Wizard bent on destroying him.
The film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, John Cleese, Julie Walters and Dame Maggie Smith. Chris Columbus directed it, and Steve Kloves adapted the novel for the screenplay.
The “Harry Potter Film Concert Series” is a co-production of CineConcerts and Warner Bros. Consumer Products that debuted in 2016.
