SHIPSHEWANA — Sawyer Brown performs at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center, 760 S. Van Buren St.

Sawyer Brown rose to fame after winning the Vocal Group category of “Star Search” as part of the competition show’s first season, 1983-84.

During its 40-year career, Sawyer Brown has had three No. 1 singles on Billboard’s country chart: “Step That Step,” “Some Girls Do” and “Thank God for You,” as well as several Top 10 singles.

The band’s albums include “The Dirt Road,” “Outskirts of Town,” “Six Days on the Road,” “Drive Me Wild” and the forthcoming Blake Shelton-produced album “Desperado Troubadours.”
