‘I Saw Kids From Her Class Running Out. They Were, Some Of Them, Just Clothes Full Of Blood,’ Says Mother Of School Shooting Victim

On May 24, 2022, Ana dropped her 10-year-old daughter, Maite, off at Robb Elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. Later that morning, Ana says she was notified of an active shooter at the school. “There were children running out of windows. There were people everywhere,” says Ana, describing the chaos she witnessed when she returned to the school. Continuing, Ana says, “I saw kids from her class running out. They were, some of them, just clothes full of blood.” Watch the video above to hear Ana tell Dr. Phil about the moment she says she knew that Maite was among the nineteen children and two teachers shot and killed that day. This episode of Dr. Phil, “School Shooters: Is There a Solution?” airs Thursday. And later, Dr. Phil is joined by Rudy Perez, president of the National Association of School Resource Officers, psychologist Dr. Jillian Peterson, and sociologist Dr. James Densley of The Violence Project to discuss the steps that can be taken to slow down, if not prevent, more school shootings from happening.
