Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie Gets First Look Image & Cast Unveil

Netflix is making a SpongeBob SquarePants movie all about Sandy Cheeks, as the streamer recently announced that Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is coming next year.
The film will follow the character of Sandy Cheeks — a squirrel that resides in Bikini Bottom — as well as the entirety of Bikini Bottom as they are scooped out of the ocean. In order to save the town, the duo of Sandy and SpongeBob will have to travel to Sandy’s home of Texas in order to stop a villainous plot from happening.
Alongside the announcement, the first image from the movie was released, which you can see below:
The Sandy Cheeks Movie will see series regulars Carolyn Lawrence, Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, and Mr. Lawrence reprise their roles as Sandy Cheeks, SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Plankton, and Mr. Krabs, respectively. Sandy first appeared in the Nickelodeon series in the 1999 episode “Tea at the Treedome.”
The film will also star Wanda Sykes, Johnny Knoxville, Craig Robinson, Grey DeLisle, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, and Matty Cardarople in other roles.
Currently, a concrete release has not been set, but Netflix did say the movie would be out sometime in 2024.
