This 'Saved By the Bell' Mini-Reunion Will Give You Major ‘90s Feels

Without dwelling too much on just how long ago the ‘90s were, let’s take a moment to appreciate a blast from our ‘90s past. On Saturday night, the cast of Saved by the Bell enjoyed a mini-reunion — and Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zach Morris), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) are apparently just as tight today as their characters were three decades ago at the height of nostalgic sitcom’s success.

Gosselaar shared a group shot of the friends, along with their significant others, out to eat at French restaurant Petit Trois in Sherman Oaks, California. “This is what 30+ years of friendship looks like,” Gosselaar captioned the snapshot on Instagram. Berkley, Thiessen and Lopez all shared the photo to Instagram as well with a “friends forever” caption. For good measure, Berkley added a slew of hashtags, including “#spousestoo” and “imsoexcited.”

Lopez also went on to share a video of the group, going around the table to “introduce” everyone. “Ok, fun dinner tonight with some old friends,” he said, joking, “We ate an obscene amount of food, an obscene amount of food. The Lopezes are walking home, coming back and getting the car. Great group here… not it’s time to play credit card roulette for the bill.”

In case you’re curious, it would seem Lopez lost the round of roulette. “Thanks for taking care of the bill!” Gosselaar noted with laugh-emojis in the comment thread to Lopez’s post.

Ah, it’s nice to see the gang together again. Saved By the Bell ran on NBC from 1989 to 1993, making it must-watch TV for ‘90s kids. Of course, diehard Saved By the Bell fans will undoubtedly notice that a few of Bayside’s finest didn’t make it to the reunion dinner. Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle, and Dustin Diamond, who played Screech, were both absent.

But Voohries was present in 2009 for the very first post-Saved By the Bell reunion with Gosselaar, Thiessen, Berkley and Lopez. Back then, Thiessen summed up the cast’s lasting bond to People, explaining, “When you’re young, you don’t think, ‘This is something I’m going to cherish forever.’ But I spent a lot of formative years on the show. We had a lot of firsts together.”
