Breakout country music artist Megan Moroney got another high recognition from Rolling Stone on Friday.

Moroney's "Lucky" was the top-ranked album on the pop culture and music news site's "25 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2023." The album was also on Rolling Stone's "The 100 Best Albums of 2023" list earlier this month.

The debut album features her hit song "Tennessee Orange," a nod to her Georgia Bulldogs-ties, and more recent radio-favorite "I'm Not Pretty."

"Sure, she knows how to do the normal country tropes well: cars and guitars and deceitful exes and claustrophobic Southern hometowns," writes Jonathan Bernstein, senior research editor at Rolling Stone. "But the album’s casual, youth-conversant tone makes it shine and comes naturally from a singer whose Gen Z iteration of three chords and the truth involves plenty of SEC football, self-doubt, and social-media scrolling."

The review continues saying: "Lucky is the most exciting album-length debut Nashville has heard in some time."

Moroney, 26, was born in Savannah and attended the University of Georgia. While a student in Athens, she was the opening performer for Chase Rice at the Georgia Theater.
