Sauk annual meeting will include performances, elections

JONESVILLE — The Sauk, Hillsdale County’s community theater, will host its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.

The celebration will include performances from the 2023 season and the presentation of the organization’s highest honor, the Clint Johnson Award.

“We like to turn the annual meeting into a celebration,” said Sauk Executive Director Trinity Bird. “We have a lot to celebrate. Last season was the most attended season on record with over 10,000 tickets being sold.”

The public is invited to attend.

“This free event is also perfect for anyone who has never been to our theatre and wants to check out what we are all about,” Bird added.

The annual meeting will include business including a financial wrap-up of the 2023 season, election of board members and a preview of what is to come in 2024 with a performance from the cast of the upcoming production of “Criminal Mischief.”

The evening will include performances from many of the 2023 productions including “The Sound of Music” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Clint Johnson Award.

“The award, named after one of our founding members, recognizes long-time contributions to our organization,” Bird said. “We are nothing without our volunteers.”

The Sauk’s annual organizational meeting will be held immediately following the annual meeting.

The Sauk is located at 240 E. Chicago Street in Jonesville.
