If you like Sauce Boss Burger Co., you'll love their first brick-and-mortar: Deli Dudes

The restaurateurs behind Pensacola’s popular Sauce Boss Burger Co. food trucks debuted their first brick-and-mortar restaurant this month. Deli Dudes − a specialty sandwich, seasonal soup and hand-tossed salad shop − opened in Gulf Breeze’s newest food park, Grab-a-Bite Food Court & Bar.

What is Grab-a-Bite Food Court & Bar?

Grab-a-Bite Food Court & Bar is an indoor and outdoor food court located directly across the street from neighboring food truck park, The Eatery at 5260 Gulf Breeze Parkway. The two food courts are under different ownership and each offers a unique variety of food and beverages for lunch and dinner.

Along with a wide variety of food trucks, including Meat Candy BBQ, Jumping Lomo Peruvian Cuisine, and newly joined Locals Gon Greek − there are two indoor restaurants and a bar area, as well as climate-controlled indoor seating and restrooms.

In addition to Deli Dudes, Turtle Roll Homemade Ice Cream & Shaved Ice has claimed its own indoor parlor, celebrating its grand opening Jan. 12. The space is decked out with larger-than-life ice cream art and a tie dye mural completed by Navarre Beach mural artist Tia Wind. Turtle Roll features ice cream treats perfect after a day out in the sun, like the Beach Bucket Sundae, Tubular Twist, or Vertical Banana Split.

What is Deli Dudes like?

Deli Dudes owners Eli and Tori Cook launched their first food truck, Sauce Boss Burger Co., at The Eatery, back in early 2022. Sauce Boss picked up popularity quickly for its specialty burgers using a top Wagyu-burger blend from Pensacola’s local Costello’s Butcher Shop, along with homemade signature sauces to complement each burger. Since then, they have sold over 55,000 burgers and won 16 different awards, according to the Sauce Boss social media page. After seeing its success, they added a second food truck stationed outside of downtown Pensacola’s The Handlebar. Now that they have moved into their restaurant space at Deli Dudes, they will be relocating their truck stationed at The Eatery to the Grab-a-Bite Food Court & Bar. The truck’s last day at The Eatery will be Jan. 28.

Their newest concept, Deli Dudes, plays off a laidback, coastal inspired theme decorated with surfboards and other beach décor. The menu item names follow-suit, with sides like the “Cali Coleslaw,” “Playa Potato Salad” and “Malibu Mac n’ Cheese.”

What is on Deli Dudes menu?

Deli Dudes offers classic sandwiches made fresh to order, hand-tossed salads inspired by the sandwiches, wraps and seasonal soups.

The range of sandwiches take you on a trip around the globe, with a few stops around the state of California. First to taste the Santa Cruz Club, then down south to try the San Diego Steak and Cheddar.

The shop also offers fresh-sliced deli meats and cheeses cut to order and sold by the pound.

What makes the Deli Dudes sandwiches special?

The makers of Sauce Boss have put their own personal spin on well-recognized sandwiches.

Sauce Boss, as the name implies, is well-known for its specialty sauces custom-made for each burger. The Deli Dudes concept nods to this, with special homemade sauces designed to complement your sandwiches and salads. The house Key Lime Mustard and High Tide Horseradish are among them. They pride themselves on the freshest ingredients, from their house-made curry chicken salad to their hand-tossed salads.
