Saturday Outdoor Movie Series coming to Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk Parks & Recreation is putting on an Outdoor Movie Series starting this summer.

On six Saturdays beginning in May and going through October, the city has scheduled the movie events. Two hours before the movies start attendees can jump in the bounce house, shoot at the inflatable basketball hoop, enjoy a petting zoo, etc. Admission is free. Children must be accompanied.

Here is the schedule for the movies:

  • Saturday, May 25, at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Rd., and will feature “Space Jam” (1996, PG). Movie begins at 8:15 p.m., all the fun starts at 6:15 p.m.

  • “Barbie” (PG-13), June 22, at Downtown Festival Park, 215 W. Washington St. Fun begins at 6:30 p.m., movie starts at 8:30 p.m.

  • “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” (PG), July 27 at Holland Park, 6720 Ruritan Blvd. Fun begins at 6:15 p.m., movie starts at 8:15 p.m.

  • “Wonka” (PG), August 24 at Downtown Festival Park, 215 W. Washington St. Fun begins at 5:45 p.m., movie starts at 7:45 p.m.

  • “Elemental” (PG), September 21 at Holland Park, 6720 Ruritan Blvd. Fun begins at 5 p.m., movie starts at 7 p.m.

  • “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (PG), October 19 at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Rd. Fun begins at 4:45 p.m., movie starts at 6:45 p.m.
