'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: 'Star Wars' Has a Senior Moment in Parody Trailer

This week, everyone went a little nuts over the new Star Wars trailer (OK, a lot nuts), which debuted during Monday Night Football. Every shot was analyzed in minute detail — um, where’s Luke Skywalker?! And Star Wars basically broke the Internet, as fans stormed movie ticketing sites to purchase advance tickets.

This happened last year, too, when the first teaser came out, and naturally, Saturday Night Live had a little fun with the furor. This parody trailer features Taran Killam as Han Solo, Bobby Moynihan as Princess Leia, and host James Franco as Luke Skywalker.

“There is an alliance of heroes,” the teaser proclaims. “New and old.”

Very old. Like, AARP old. Han can’t hear very well, and Leia’s having trouble programming R2-D2. Even those strong in the Force can’t beat old age!

SNL returns with new episodes on Nov. 7 with host Donald Trump.
