'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Chris Farley's Having a Wild St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day just might be the booziest holiday of the year (no, the day your relatives leave after Thanksgiving does not count). Most people don’t even know what the day celebrates, but who cares when there’s whiskey and a pint of Guinness just waiting to be turned into an Irish car bomb?

But sometimes, people get a little too turnt up on St. Patty’s Day — like Chris Farley’s Mike the Cameraman in this 1995 Saturday Night Live skit. Stuart Smalley (Al Franken) is trying to tape another episode of his “Daily Affirmations,” but unfortunately, St. Patrick’s Day has gotten the best of Mike.

Stuart tries to perform an intervention on his co-worker, and reads off a checklist. “Do you drink in the morning?”

Mike shakes his head. “Absolutely not! I don’t get up ‘til noon!” he says with a laugh.

Yikes. At least St. Patrick’s Day only comes around once a year.

Saturday Night Live returns with new episodes this spring.
