'Star Wars' Day: Celebrate With Some Force-ful 'SNL' Parodies

You don’t have to be a Jedi Master to see that the Force is strong with Saturday Night Live. As the world celebrates Star Wars Day, we offer up some of the sketch comedy giant’s finest, funniest Star Wars-related skits. #MayThe4thBeWithYou

Fallon Sings the Star Wars Blues
Jimmy Fallon’s musical mimicry is a big part of The Tonight Show, and he honed those skills during his SNL run. This “Weekend Update” clip finds him channeling Sugar Ray, Eminem, and Ricky Martin as he expresses his excitement for the yet-to-open Phantom Menace back in 1999. Not only does it transport you back to a long ago, far away time when people actually looked forward to watching the first prequel, but it also reminds you that Sugar Ray was once a thing.

Best Alternate Casting Choice Ever

Kevin Spacey’s uncanny impression of Christopher Walken is hilarious on its own. Seeing Spacey-as-Walken-as-Han Solo? That’s, like, the Death Star of comedy.

Natalie Portman Schools the Fanboys

A year after wrapping her involvement in the Star Wars prequels, Luke and Leia’s mom gave the fanboy plants in the Studio 8H crowd (played by Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis) a crash course in Galactic mythology. When it comes to geek trivia, all hail Queen Amidala.

The Parody Trailer Awakens

The first of sure-to-be-many Episode VII related spoofs, this send-up of The Force Awakens trailer — released mere days after the Real McCoy — boasts Taran Killam’s excellent “Old Harrison Ford” impression and Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber walker.
