‘Saturday Night Live’ reveals final 3 hosts of Season 49: Dua Lipa, Maya Rudolph, Jake Gyllenhaal

Producers of ‘Saturday Night Live’ revealed on Thursday the final three guest hosts of Season 49. As previously announced, pop superstar Dua Lipa will be guest host and musical guest on May 4. Former cast member Maya Rudolph returns on May 11 with musical guest Vampire Weekend. Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal hosts the season finale on May 18 with musical guest Sabrina Carpenter.

This will mark the debut appearance for Dua Lipa as a host on “SNL” but she was previously a musical guest with Natalie Portman and Kristen Wiig. Rudolph is a five-time Emmy winner who hosts for the third time. Gyllenhaal is also making his third appearance as host.

The regular cast members for “SNL” Season 49 are, in credits order: Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, James Austin Johnson, Punkie Johnson, Colin Jost, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson and Bowen Yang. The featured players are: Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, Chloe Troast and Devon Walker.

“Saturday Night Live’s” Weekend Update is once again anchored by Jost and Che, as they’ve done every week together since September 2014. As of the 47th season two years ago, they are officially the longest-serving duo in the history of Weekend Update.

At the most recent Emmy Awards, the variety series won its 95th trophy overall, making it the biggest winner in the history of the Television Academy. For comparison’s sake, the next closest show in second place is “Game of Thrones” with 59 Emmys.
