‘Saturday Night Live’ Remembers Matthew Perry

Airing just hours after news broke about Matthew Perry’s sudden death at age 54, NBC’s Saturday Night Live paid tribute to the Friends star with a card, which appeared before the episode’s curtain call.

As one of NBC’s biggest names during Friends‘ 10-year reign on the network, Perry hosted SNL on Oct. 4, 1997. Below is one of his bumper shots from the show.

In addition to his signature role as Chandler Bing, on NBC Perry also guest starred on Aaron Sorkin’s White House drama The West Wing and headlined Sorkin’s drama Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip, set behind the scenes of an SNL-like sketch comedy show, and comedy Go On.

Perry received Emmy nominations for both Friends (one) and The West Wing (2).
