Two familiar faces will return for the upcoming Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones, who recurred as Mandy’s parents in Young Sheldon, return to reprise their roles as series regulars in the spinoff series.

Both joined the mothership series in Season 6 as Jim and Audrey McAllister.

More from Deadline

Jones’ Audrey is Mandy’s overbearing mother who wants the best for her daughter and isn’t convinced that Georgie is it. She is fiercely protective of her family, but not above thinking she knows what’s best for everybody.

Sasso’s Jim is Mandy’s kind-hearted father who is often caught in the crossfire between his daughter and his wife, Audrey. When he’s not running the local tire store, he’s trying to help his new Son-in-Law navigate marriage, parenthood, and his new family.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is the sequel to Young Sheldon. It follows Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.

Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland will serve as executive producers of the series, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Jones is best known for originating the role of Heidi Hansen in the Broadway cast of Dear Evan Hansen, for which she received a Tony Award, Emmy Award and Grammy Award. She recently starred in ABC’s The Good Doctor. Her other credits include CBS’ United States of Al and God Friended Me, as well as ABC’s Modern Family and Paramount+’s Why Women Kill. On the film side she’ll next be seen in the SXSW Grand Jury prize-winning Bob Trevino Likes It. Jones is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Jeremy Katz at The Katz Company.

Sasso’s can currently be seen recurring on Season 3 of Apple TV+’s Acapulco. He previously starred in ABC’s United We Fall opposite Christina Vidal and Jane Curtin. He also starred for five seasons on Fox’s hit sketch comedy series MADtv. He has appeared in several feature films, including The Throwback and Dangerous Game. Sasso is repped by D2 Management and IAG.
