Sarah Silverman addresses Louis C.K. accusations: 'Can you love someone who did bad things?'

Sarah Silverman took a moment at the top of her new show I Love You, America to address the recent sexual misconduct allegations against comedian Louis C.K. According to a New York Times article, least 5 women have come forward to say they were victims of C.K.'s unsolicited actions. Silverman said, "One of my best friends of over 25 years, Louis C. K., masturbated in front of women. He wielded his power with women in f*cked up ways, sometimes to the point where they left comedy entirely." Silverman had previously not commented on the allegations because she was still processing them. Silverman said, "It’s a real mind f*ck, you know, because I love Louis. But Louis did these things. Both of those statements are true, so I just keep asking myself, “Can you love someone who did bad things? Can you still love them?” Silverman however said she will have to shelve that quandary because there are more important things to focus on. Silverman said, "The only people that matter right now are the victims. They are victims, and they’re victims because of something he did."
