Sarah Paulson's Decade-Old Keepsake Kind of Predicted Her Future With Holland Taylor

As much of a cliché as it can be, the universe truly works in mysterious ways. Occasionally, it leaves little breadcrumbs that hint at what’s to come. This sentiment rings particularly true when exploring the love story of Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor, as it turns out Paulson had a keepsake that hinted at what was to come in the romance department.

The two have come quite a long way since they first met back in 2005, when both of them were still involved with other people. In 2016, Paulson told the New York Times that despite having a different girlfriend at the time, actress Cherry Jones, she thought that Taylor was “probably the most exquisitely beautiful woman I’d ever seen.” Cut to 2015, and the two started dating after a flirtatious exchange on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, per People.

During her Tuesday appearance on The View, Paulson revealed that she had a photo of her future girlfriend displayed in her home long before the two were an item.

“I actually had her picture on my refrigerator for 10 years before we were together,” the American Horror Story actor told the co-hosts of The View. The photo was apparently taken sometime in 2005 after Paulson, Taylor, and Allison Janney went out to dinner with the late screenwriter Buck Henry. The writer snapped a photo of the three women, and that is the one that adorned Paulson’s fridge.

“He took this picture and sent us all copies, and it was on my refrigerator in my little apartment in West Hollywood for 10 years before we [started dating],” Paulson explained before gushing about what an amazing partner Taylor is to her.

“[She] helps me want to be a better person and a more realized person, and she just also makes me feel seen, which I think is the most important gift you can give to any person.”

Paulson, 48, tends to stay private about her relationship with Taylor, 80, as the two have been on the receiving end of some judgmental comments regarding their 32-year age gap. In one of the few moments she has decided to open it, it is amazing to see just how magical love can be — and how it might be staring you right in the face every time you go to grab a snack from the fridge.
