Legendary super model Christy Turlington tells InStyle's editor in chief Laura Brown that the first big item she splurged on was a Bulgari watch. "It made absolutely no sense, but there were constantly things that I had to wear for shoots." She says she still has that same watch 25 years later.

Emmy award-winning actress and fashion aficionado Sarah Paulson says her first big purchase was an ox blood Balenciaga bag, which she'd pair with her Juicy Couture terrycloth sweats, naturally. "I can't even believe that I would wear them out," she told Brown during her podcast episode. "They looked good on my butt, though. So I was willing to do just about anything for the butt."

Next, model, actress, mother, and now author Emily Ratajkowski says her first big purchase was an $800 Herve Leger dress. "I remember being like, 'I can't believe I'm buying this," she recalled to Brown. "It wasn't even, you know, so crazy compared to what other things [cost], but it blew my mind."

Tommy Dorfman's first splurge was a Versace button-down. "It was a men's dress shirt," she shared. "And it had the Versace logo, really thin pinstripes, and I bought it oversized and I would wear it over my skinny Ksubi jeans."

As for Reese Witherspoon? She couldn't get enough of Betsey Johnson in the '90s. "I would go into Betsey Johnson, and I would just spend hours looking at her fabrics and the colors. I was obsessed with Betsy Johnson."

Judith Light remembered buying gold lamé for years ... until her manager told her enough was enough. "My manager said to me, 'No more gold lamé. We are not doing gold lamé anymore,'" she said. "I don't know. I'm like a magpie. It was sparkly, but I had to be trained, and I had to listen."
