As we reported, Todd Palin filed for divorce on Friday in Anchorage after 30 years of marriage to the political star.

Todd & Sarah had always seemed to have a strong relationship, although reports have surfaced that those close to the former couple saw the split coming.

In his documents, which were filed on his birthday, Todd states the breakup is due to an, "incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife."

He has also requested joint custody of their 11-year-old special needs son, Trig.

The other Palin children are all adults, so they don't need to be factored into the divorce.

Bristol appears to be turning to God in the wake of her parents' split. The other children have not yet made any public comments.
