Sarah Jessica Parker Talks Kim Cattrall 'Sex and the City' Feud Rumors

Sarah Jessica Parker says there's absolutely no truth to the longtime rumors that she and her Sex and the City co-star, Kim Cattrall, have been engaged in an ongoing feud.

Parker, 51, also calls the constant rumors sexist in a new interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show.

"It used to really confound me and really upset me, because we were part of a family [with fellow HBO hit] The Sopranos, and nobody ever questioned the relationships of the men on that show, and nobody ever said to them, 'Did you hang out this weekend with each other?' or, 'Did you give each other Christmas presents?'" she points out. "These were people that I grew to love and admire, and was every day perfect, and were people desperately, hopelessly in love with each other? No, but this was a family of people who needed each other, and relied upon each other, and loved each other. And this sort of narrative, this ongoing catfight, it really upset me for a very long time."

Parker says she and 60-year-old Cattrall didn't bother attempting to set rumors straight after a certain point.

"I think we had both felt that it had taken on a life, and it didn't matter how many people denied it," she explains.

Still, the mother of three admits she took the gossip extremely personally.

"It was upsetting because it was usually about bad behavior on the set, and I take very seriously my reputation," she notes. "I work really hard and I treat people well, and I have a work ethic that's very meaningful to me, and it's based on the affection I feel for the people that I get to work with."

Parker and Cattrall reportedly had a big falling out during SATC's final season, when Parker was paid considerably more than Cattrall, Us Weekly notes. Their dispute over money also allegedly caused delays in production of the two SATC films.

However, Parker certainly appears to still be close to Cattrall, judging by the sweet birthday note she penned for her longtime co-star in August.

"Happy birthday you beauty @kimcattrall," Parker Instagrammed. "Sending love and the very best for a perfectly marvelous, joyous, healthy and adventure filled birthday year. Your ol' pal, fellow mischief maker and 'sister,' Sj xxx."
