Sarah Jessica Parker is not a Carrie when it comes to shopping; it can give her 'anxiety'

Has Sarah Jessica Parker ever said "Hello, lover" to a pair of pumps? Maybe not.

The "Sex and the City" actress highlighted a difference between herself and the character Carrie Bradshaw as a guest on "Fifi, Fev & Byron" on Melbourne's 101.9 The Fox.

"I'm not a crazy shopper," Parker, 54, said in a clip uploaded to the show's official Instagram account Monday. "Yeah, I haven't been for many years.

"I mean, I think I used to be a little more so. But shopping sometimes can give me anxiety, like, I feel bad. ... Like, I buy something and I'm like: ‘Oh, do I really need that? Will I want that in five years? Is that gonna look good on me in five years?'

"I keep thinking like, ‘Oh, well, what about when I retire?' which (husband Matthew Broderick's) like, 'We're never going to retire,' " Parker added. "But I‘ll be in my closet like, 'Well, I should definitely keep that sweater, because when I retire, when I'm in Ireland.' "

Parker, who launched her own show collection, SJP, in 2014, said she had an affinity for shoes before stepping into Carrie's.

"I did a little bit. I mean, nobody's relationship with shoes, I think, can compare with Carrie's very – I always say it, like a fever for her," she said. "And, I don't say that in a judgmental way – that's one of her great passions."
