Sarah Hyland Furious With CVS Over Her Medication: ‘I’m in a Lot of Pain’

Sarah Hyland is apparently sick of the treatment she received from CVS this week, and she had no problem letting the world know as much on social media.

“Modern Family” star Hyland, who received a kidney transplant in 2012, went after the pharmacy chain, cursing CVS out and saying that they hadn’t provided her with crucial medication in a timely manner.

In a tweet Monday, Hyland vented, “Hey @cvspharmacy when you tell a kidney transplant recipient that her medication will be ready before you close and that you will notify her when it’s ready to be picked up. F—ING DO IT BEFORE YOU CLOSE. PEOPLE LIKE ME CANT AFFORD TO GO WITHOUT MEDICATION.”

The actress punctuated the missive with an image of an upraised middle finger.

In a follow-up tweet, Hyland posted an image of the posted hours for a Studio City, California, CVS location and groused, “Also @cvspharmacy maybe put the CORRECT time you close on the internet. Just a suggestion from a long time customer who needs medication for the rest of her life.”

The pharmacy chain responded to Hyland, tweeting Tuesday, “Your health is so important to us, Sarah & we understand how upsetting this experience must have been. We’d like to follow up w/ you offline to learn more & do whatever we can to improve your experience in the future. Can you pls DM us at your earliest convenience?”

The response did little to placate Hyland, who questioned whether the response was :just a copy/paste situation.”

Assured by the pharmacy chain that its response was personally directed to her, Hyland indicated that she had direct-messaged the details of her situation to CVS. However, the actress was far from finished venting about the situation.

In a video posted to her Twitter account Tuesday, Hyland explained that she was attempting to obtain antibiotic from the pharmacy, which she needed for an infection.

“I had already been about two and a half days with infection. If that infection is not treated soon,” the actress said, it would develop into a condition that would send her kidney into rejection, requiring dialysis.

Hyland went on to say that the transplant team at Cedars-Sinai had called multiple times putting in the request for the antibiotic, but at 7 p.m. CVS “said they never got it — lies.”

The actress said that she called at 7:30, at which point she was told that they had received the prescription, and “they assurred me that they would call me before they closed.”

In a second video, Hyland said, “I would also like to say for everyone else who has dealt with CVS problems, I feel your pain. Thank you so much for reaching out and telling me yours so that I don’t feel like a crazy person. You guys are sweet and awesome. I’m also just in a bad mood because I’m in a lot of pain. So call me a b—-, I really don’t f—ing care.”
