It’s a big week for former Trump White House press secretaries.

A day after her predecessor, Sean Spicer, was revealed to be joining the Season 28 cast of Dancing With the Stars, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been announced as a new contributor at Fox News.

According to a press release issued by the network, the Sanders will provide “political commentary and analysis” across Fox News outlets, beginning with an appearance on Fox & Friends on Sept. 6.

It is the first role for Sanders since her departure from the White House at the end of June. She has since been replaced as White House press secretary by Stephanie Grisham, former communications director for first lady Melania Trump.

"After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas," Trump tweeted, adding that he hoped she would run for governor of her state. “Fox News has been the number one news organization in the country for 17 years running and I am beyond proud to join their incredible stable of on-air contributors in providing political insights and analysis,” the Arkansas native said in a statement.

Sanders is the daughter of former Gov. Mike Huckabee, who also has ties to Fox News. His show, Huckabee, ran on the network from 2008 to 2015, before moving to TBN, though he remains a Fox contributor.

As with Spicer’s DWTS casting, Sanders’s new career move has raised some eyebrows. That’s perhaps no surprise given her contentious relationship with the media during her White House tenure, during which she faced widespread criticism — with veteran journalist Sam Donaldson saying she deserves a “lifetime achievement Oscar for lying” — and was even asked to leave a restaurant because the owner objected to her politics.

She did, however, get props from her proud papa. Huckabee joked that his daughter — who is rumored to have aspirations of following in his footsteps as governor of Arkansas — would have “been voted off the island” had she taken a job with CNN.

Others also joined in congratulating her.
