Santa Lands in Lubbock: City opens annual Christmas-themed holiday village in Mackenzie Park

Lubbockites can work in their visits with Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves and other festive characters now through Dec. 21 as the city continues its 67th annual Santa Land in Mackenzie Park.

City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation and Champion Energy are hosting the free event that continues daily from 6 to 10 p.m. at 600 Cesar E. Chavez Drive, according to the city of Lubbock. The village officially opened for the year on Saturday, when Santa and Mrs. Claus entered on a sleigh to help kick off the festivities.

Guests can walk through this festive holiday village with a 50-foot Christmas tree, animated displays, and Santa's Workshop. Hot chocolate and snacks are also available for purchase.
